CGMH marks Anti-Slavery Day

Dr Melanie Abas, CGMH deputy director at King’s College London, together with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust Chief Executive Dr Matthew Patrick, and Dr Blake Stobie and Dr Idit Albert of SLaM and Angelina Jalonen of the Refugee Council, met with Nicola Blackwood, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and MP for Oxford West and Abingdon.

This was to mark Anti-Slavery day. The meeting focussed on enabling Ms Blackwood and her team to gain insight into work of clinicians, researchers and third sector to support victims of trauma, including modern slavery and human trafficking.  Melanie presented findings from the PROTECT study on behalf of Sian Oram, Louise Howard, Cathy Zimmerman and the PROTECT team.
