Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Society and Mental Health Research Group are advertising for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a major new programme of research on psychotic disorder (INTREPID II).

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for a position of Postdoctoral Research Associate on an exciting and major new programme of research on psychotic disorders (INTREPID II) in three countries: India, Nigeria, and Trinidad. 

The post holder will be based in the coordinating centre (Institute of Psychiatry, London) and will be responsible for a) overall coordination of the programme, b) supporting and liaising with each centre to ensure planned activities are conducted in line with the programme timetable, and c) contributing to collating and analysing material and data generated by the programme. Travel to the sites in each of the countries will be required.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant subject, have experience of working on large scale projects and of working with those with a serious mental disorder, excellent data management skills, good knowledge of statistics, very strong organisational skills, and an excellent ability to work in teams and liaise with other professionals and academics.

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33,518 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term for 36 months.

This is a Full-Time post.

Research Worker

This role will provide a unique experience of the current landscape of global mental health work from within a world-renowned research centre. The post holder will provide research assistance and management support to Dr Salisbury over a 10 month period, in the management of the Theory to Practice in Global Mental Health module, a core module for the MSc in Global Mental Health. In addition the post holder will assist Dr Salisbury in preparing grant applications and manuscripts, and conducting literature reviews and primary analyses of existing data on mental health systems for publication.

The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £28,098 per annum - £31,604 per annum plus £2,923 London Weighting Allowance per annum pro rata.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract 10 months.

This is a Part-time post – 30% full time equivalent.
