Dr Nikita Nalawade

PhD Student (Affiliate)

Nikita is a PhD student at Queen Mary University of London and is affiliated with King’s College London. She trained as psychiatrist in India and holds a Master’s in Global Mental Health from King’s College London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Following the Master’s, she worked as a qualitative research assistant as a part of INTREPID II. Her research interests include understanding the social determinants of care and recovery for those living with severe mental illness in India and she’s also passionate about mental health and climate policy related research.
Her PhD project is a mixed methods analysis aiming to understand the relevance of personal recovery frameworks in practice and policy to support those living with psychosis in India. She’s funded by the London Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Doctoral Training Programme (LISS-DTP).
