HeadTrip

Headtrip aims to explore how an 'immersive audio piece’, co-created with people with lived experience, frontline workers, academic experts and artists, might help communicate the experience of mental health conditions in engaging new ways; changing attitudes and behaviours, building empathy and reducing stigma.

Without actually ever experiencing a condition like depression, it is difficult to understand what the sufferer goes through. To those around them, the stories sufferers recount can seem implausible or exaggerated. Headtrip aims to place its audience at the centre, by providing an immersive audio experience.

By testing the audio on a range of listeners, the project team will gauge where it might have most impact, whether that be as a research exercise for academics, a training tool for frontline workers or for wider public awareness building.
